The 24 Nosler was designed by Mike Lake, who is the Senior Manager of Engineering and R&D at Nosler. He was also responsible for the development of the 26 Nosler (2013), 28 Nosler (2015), 30 Nosler (2016), and the 33 Nosler (2017), all of which are based on the .404 Jeffery case. The 24 Nosler is a follow on from the 22 Nosler that is based on a 6.8 SPC case and the 22 and 24 Nosler were designed for the AR platform with a rebated rim to fit the 223 bolt face but with the 24 Nosler case shortened by 0.16” to facilitate the longer 6mm bullets while still fitting in an AR mag.
