Research notes
The 219 Zipper is based on the 25 -35 Wichester necked down to .22cal. Winchester took the very popular M94 rifle during the early 1920’s and dicided to modernize it, bringing out the Model 55, and in 1933 changed again to the Model 64 rifle. The early thirties was a period where the varmint .22 craze started and the introduced the .219 Zipper. The lever action rifle and MOA accuracy never did go together, so the 219 Zipper never became a best seller for Winchester, although it served as a parent cartridge for a myriad wildcat loadings, keeping the M64 alive.
