Research notes
The idea of the 360 Wesson dates from around 1999 during the IHMSA International Tournament at Ft. Stockton, TX. According to the Los Angeles Silhouette Club website, (that currently seems down), the discussion was between Bob Serva, then president of Wesson Arms and industry pros and shooters about the most effective cartridge for silhouette shooting. Discussions ranged between the 357 Magnum and 357 Maximum, and by early 200 the 360 Dan Wesson was introduced with a case length of 1.41 Inches, midway between the 357 Mag and 357 Maximum, to provide the additional power to knock down targets at longer distances, without the additional recoil.
