Research notes
This cartridge is listed on page 179 in Hoyem Vol. 2 and would seem part of the caliber reduction experiments conducted between 1878 to 1884. The work was done by J. Koeffler, an Austrian engineer working with Werndl at Steyr. The 9.3x95R discussed on a previous page was based on the Werndl case necked down, however this specimen is not based on the Werndl case. This specimen originally from the Woodin Collection.
