Research notes
Developed during the mid-1930’s as a more powerful 8mm version than the existing 8x64 or 8x75. Power is about on par with the 375 H&H and it might also have been a German attempt to compete with the medium/large British calibers for African Hunting. (Dixon Ref. W61)
