Research notes
The 8x57R JR was one of the most popular cartridges for double and drilling rifles. It was probably introduced around 1893 and was the first flat based round as opposed to the M88A, or A-Base. It was manufactured by most of the European factories. (Dixon Ref. M2)
These were made from modified 7.92 X 58R DUTCH SCHWARZLOSE cases
