Research notes
The 457 WWG was developed by Jim West of Wild West Guns, in Anchorage Alaska around 1994. It started with him developing his own custom rifle, the Co-Pilot, a custom takedown lever action rifle designed for survival in the harsh Alaska wilderness and capable of fitting under the seat of a small airplane, blending his profession as a gunsmith, outfitter and pilot. The 457 WWG is chambered in the co-pilot rifle and delivers ballistics more than what the standard 45-70 is capable of.
