Research notes
The 44 Bull Dog was developed around 1880 and was based on a shortened version of the US 44 Webley or equivalent British 442 RIC revolver. It was a cheaper, less powerful design to be carried in a pocket type revolver and was only made in the USA and Canada. (Erlmeier, Brandt Ref. 401)
