Research notes
Based on the 404 Jeffery case and named after Walter Abe, who was a rifle maker and originally developed another 338 wildcat, namely the 338 A&H (Abe and Harris). The idea was to get the most effective 338 cal cartridge from a non-belted case to use on a magnum length action rifle to give better ballistics than the 340 Weatherby.
