Very similar although less powerful than the 32 Long Colt, it was also developed in the conversion from the old 32 Long Rimfire to centerfire. This cartridge is, like the 320 Short in all probability an old British design dating from the late 1860’s. The change from black powder to smokeless and the introduction of more powerful rounds like the 32 S&W Long rendered this cartridge obsolete and it was discontinued around 1910.
