Research notes
The 300 American is dimensionally like the .30 Remington AR that was introduced by Remington and others in 2008. It has the slight rebated rim to fit the AR bolt face. It is not known if the name would have been confusing as there already existed a 30 American, which was nothing more than a specially annealed 30-30 Win case and modified for a small rifle primer.
