Research notes
The 11.15x40R was the shortest variation of the LK Express cartridges and it was produced from 1885 and last listed in 1901. It was also produced on the Stahl “St” case type. Sauer was one of the major manufacturers who built rifles on the “LK” case type cartridges. “LK” is believed to stand for “Lancaster Kugel”.
